What is this?

linuxmanpag.es is a fast, searchable reference for Linux man pages. Every page includes the authoritative documentation sourced directly from Debian packages, with full-text search across 78,000+ commands.

Why does this exist?

Existing Linux man page sites are slow, hard to search, and show raw groff output with little context. We set out to build something better:

• Full-text search — find what you need by command name, description, or topic
• Every section — commands, syscalls, library functions, config files, and more (sections 1-9)
• Clean formatting — groff source converted to readable HTML
• Cross-references — linked see-also sections so you can explore related commands
• Source available — every page links to the original groff source for GPL compliance

Content

Man page content is sourced from Debian bookworm packages and is reproduced under each command’s respective open-source license (typically GPL or BSD). The original groff source for each page is available via the “source” link.
